In-store signing session by Skerryvore to celebrate their new album 'Beautiful Mistakes' at Assai Records in Aberdeen.
Skerryvore are coming to Assai Records in Aberdeen on Tuesday 10 November for an instore signing session. It's a chance to meet the band and get your copy of their new album, Beautiful Mistakes, signed in person. The session starts at 5pm, just a few days after the record comes out.
Skerryvore have spent the last few years at the front of a movement bringing traditional Scottish music into a contemporary setting, and they've picked up Scotland's Live Act of the Year award four times. Their 2023 album Tempus hit number one on both the Official Scottish and Folk Album Charts and broke into the Official UK Albums Chart top 40. Beautiful Mistakes is their most ambitious and personal work so far, built on the idea that perfection is overrated. It was recorded with producer Jamie Squire, the unofficial fifth member of The 1975, and features the band's first duet, with Tamzene on 'While I'm Breathing'. There's also 'Scarinish', named after a village in Tiree that's home to founding members Daniel and Martin Gillespie. The album comes out on 6 November, with the lead single 'Fly' already out, so you'll have a few days to get familiar with the songs before the signing. The band also recently released a live album, Skerryvore XX (Live At Floors Castle).
