Showaddywaddy, the eight-piece rock and roll cover band from Leicester, play The Tivoli Theatre in Aberdeen.
Showaddywaddy are playing The Tivoli Theatre on Friday 12 February 2027, with the show starting at 7:30pm. It's a single-act bill, so the whole night is theirs.
If you're not familiar with them, they call themselves 'The Greatest Rock & Roll Band In The World', a title they've lived with for more than four decades. They formed in Leicester in 1973 when two local bands, Choise and The Golden Hammers, merged into one. From there they settled into an eight-member line-up: two vocalists, two drummers, two bassists and two guitarists, all dressed as Teddy Boys β a British answer to the American act Sha Na Na. They specialise in cover versions of 1950s US pop songs, and their first single, the self-penned 'Hey Rock 'n' Roll', reached number two in the UK charts in April 1974.
That was followed by 22 more UK hits until late 1982, including ten Top Ten singles, a number one, and 209 weeks on the singles chart. Their biggest seller, 'Under The Moon Of Love', sold 985,000 copies and gave them their only UK number one, alongside well-known covers like 'Three Steps To Heaven', 'Heartbeat', 'Blue Moon' and 'Pretty Little Angel Eyes'.
