Aberdeen shoegaze and dream pop act Moody Moody headline Drummonds with a new set, supported by The Neutral Joy and The Dead Shadows.
Moody Moody headline Drummonds on Friday 30 October, with support from The Neutral Joy and The Dead Shadows. It's a North East of Scotland line-up, put on by Off Axis Presents, so everyone on the bill is from around here.
Moody Moody are an Aberdeen-based alternative act who weave together shoegaze and dream pop textures to make alternative bangers, and they've drawn comparisons to The Cure, DIIV, DMA's and Alvvays. The headline set is billed as entirely new, so you'll be hearing material they haven't played out before.
They arrive on the back of Echoes Of You, the third single of their current release cycle, which came out on 25 September. It's a shoegaze and dream pop number built around haunting, reverberated guitars that draws on their Scottish and Aberdonian identity and asks how lived experience shapes who we are, with a soundscape reminiscent of some of the best Scottish rock bands in recent times. If you've been following the singles, this is the first time you'll hear the newer stuff live.
