Free sharing by Danish experimental ensemble Lydenskab of a week of creative collaboration with North-East Scotland communities, part of Sound Festival 2026.
Lydenskab bring their Aberdeen Unfolded sharing to Cowdray Hall on Sunday 25 October, from 11.30am to 12.30pm. It's a free session, and it's the result of a week the Danish ensemble spent working with communities across North-East Scotland.
Lydenskab is an internationally award-winning ensemble from Denmark, and they've spent the week leading up to this in experimental workshops, shared reflections and creative exchange with people from across the region. The sharing is what comes out of that: the voices, sounds and compostable materials of the participants intertwine to look at the city and the region's identity, its traditions, changing perspectives and the stories people tell about transformation. It's a project that brings together the ensemble's work and the contributions of the local communities they've been collaborating with.
Behind the scenes, the project has support from Aarhus Municipality, The Danish Arts Foundation and Koda Culture in Denmark. The sharing itself is part of Sound Festival 2026, which runs from 22 to 31 October, so this is one of several events happening across the city during that window.
