Stand-up show by Bafta award winner Karen Dunbar, billed as 'The Queen of Scottish Comedy', for ages 14 and over.
Karen Dunbar brings her stand-up show Aw roon the Hooses! to The Tivoli Theatre on Thursday 19 November, with the performance starting at 7:30 pm and doors opening about half an hour before. It's a solo night for one of Scotland's most recognisable comedy faces, and if you've spent any time watching Scottish telly over the last few decades, you'll know exactly who she is.
Dunbar first made her name on the sketch show Chewin' the Fat before moving into her own series, The Karen Dunbar Show, which picked up four Golden Rose European TV Awards nominations. Since then, her career has been a bit of a whirlwind: Glasgow panto and West End classics with Burns and Shakespeare, stand-up and DJ sets in New York and Ibiza, and a spot in the 2014 Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, played to an audience of one billion viewers. She's worked her way from Oran Mor to the National Theatre, mixing comedy, music and acting along the way. Last year she toured Scotland, playing 80 dates and filming the run for the BBC.
Billed as 'The Queen of Scottish Comedy', she's a Bafta award winner and one of the country's best-known comedy actors and DJs. This is a stand-up show, so the night is all about her on stage, and she's promised to keep the audience laughing all the way through. It's for ages 14 and over, so it's a night for adults and teens rather than a family affair.
