Family pantomime in which Princess Honour and Silly Snowy stop the wicked Jack Frost from freezing the kingdom.
Freezin' comes to The Tivoli Theatre on Sunday 25 October, a family pantomime that the venue is billing as 'the coolest panto in town' and an ideal half-term treat for the whole family. It's an October production, so it hits right in the middle of the school holidays rather than the usual Christmas slot.
The story follows Princess Honour, who teams up with the comic relief, Silly Snowy, to stop the wicked Jack Frost. Frost has cast a spell of eternal winter over the kingdom, and the two of them have to work together to break it. Along the way, Honour also helps her sister, Queen Ellie, learn how to control her extraordinary ice powers. It's a classic panto setup: a royal family, a baddie to boo, and a sidekick to keep things light.
On stage, the production leans into the pantomime tradition with dazzling costumes, spectacular scenery, and toe-tapping tunes. There's plenty of laugh-out-loud comedy and, as any panto fan knows, a good deal of boos for the villain. It's built for a family audience, so it's as much about the atmosphere in the room as it is about what's happening on the stage.
