Stage celebration of award-winning movie musicals with vocals from Britain's Got Talent winners, vibrant costumes and choreography.
Epic Movie Musicals comes to the Aberdeen Arts Centre on Saturday 23 January 2027, starting at 7.30pm. It's a stage celebration of award-winning movie musicals, built around original arrangements, harmonies and the show's own vocals. The production pairs outstanding male vocals with two female vocalists and choreography by a team of dancers, all set against vibrant costumes and video footage.
The soundtrack runs through a string of iconic film musicals, including The Greatest Showman, Wicked, Mamma Mia, Les Misérables, Phantom of the Opera, Moulin Rouge, A Star is Born, The Bodyguard, Beauty & The Beast, West Side Story and Dear Evan Hansen, alongside classic Hollywood and Disney musicals. It's a broad sweep of the genre, pulling from recent hits and older staples.
On the vocal front, the show features Jai McDowall, who won Britain's Got Talent, and Vinnie McKee, a Britain's Got Talent finalist, alongside two female vocalists and a team of dancers. The arrangements are original, so these aren't just straight covers of the film versions; they're reworked for the stage, with the harmonies and the vocals taking centre stage.
