Monthly creative meet-up with a short talk from a local creative guest speaker, with a small ticket fee going to Creative Aberdeen.
Drouth returns to BrewDog Castlegate on Wednesday 21 October, starting at 6pm. It's a monthly meet-up held in a pub or bar around Aberdeen, where people catch up, meet new faces and hear a short talk from a guest speaker working in a creative job, craft or discipline. The format is the same every time: a bit of socialising and a brief talk from someone working in a creative field.
They describe it as very relaxed and casual, with everyone welcome. If you're already part of the creative scene here, it's a chance to see who else is around; if you're new to the city or just starting out, it's a low-pressure way to get your foot in the door. The guest speaker changes each month, so the focus shifts depending on who's taking the floor.
There's a small ticket fee of £5, and that goes entirely to Creative Aberdeen, a voluntary organisation. They use the money to fund education initiatives, cover future event costs and open up opportunities for creatives across the city. So, the few pounds you pay for your spot goes back into the local creative community rather than into a promoter's pocket.

It's a mid-week one, which keeps it easy to fit in around work. The talk is short, the setting is a pub, and the whole thing is built around having a drink and a chat. If you've been looking for a way to connect with other creative folk in Aberdeen without it feeling like a formal networking event, this is a good place to start. It runs from 6pm at BrewDog Castlegate, and tickets are £5.
