Stand-up comedian Ian Jones channels the style and impressions of Lee Evans in a 90-minute tribute show.
Ian Jones brings his Lee Evans tribute to Skylights Music Hall at Aberdeen Performing Arts on Saturday 7 November, as part of the Breakneck Comedy series. It's a 90-minute show, and the whole thing is built around Jones channeling the comedic genius of Lee Evans.
If you're familiar with Evans, you'll know what that means. The set is built on spot-on impressions of his signature mannerisms, his physicality, and that particular sense of timing he was known for. It's not a stand-up set that just quotes old bits, though; it's described as a fresh, original comedy experience inspired by the performer, so it's new material delivered in that unmistakable Evans style.
It's a tribute that leans heavily on the physical side of comedy, so the mannerisms and the movement are as much a part of it as the jokes. The show runs for an hour and a half, and it's recommended for ages 14 and over.
