Armistice Day service led by the Lord Provost with a short choral recital and two-minute silence, with the City of Aberdeen Roll of Honour on view.
Aberdeen Art Gallery is holding its Armistice Day service on Wednesday 11 November, from 10:45am to 11:15am in the Remembrance Hall. Armistice Day falls on 11 November each year and marks the end of the First World War, and this is the city's way of marking it.
The service is led by the Lord Provost and centres on a short recital of choral music, which leads into the two-minute silence at 11am. If you're coming for that, it's worth arriving a bit early to catch the music first. After the silence, the service wraps up by 11:15am, so it's a focused half-hour rather than a long morning.
There's a second part to the morning that you can do on your own time: the City of Aberdeen Roll of Honour is on view in the McBey Library from 11am. If you've got a few extra minutes, it's a good place to linger after the service has finished.

Entry is free, and the whole thing takes place inside the gallery, so it's an easy one to drop into if you're around the city centre that morning. The service runs from 10:45am to 11:15am in the Remembrance Hall, with the Roll of Honour open in the McBey Library from 11am.
