Tribute show by The Stevie Agnew Band celebrating The Band's legacy and the Last Waltz concert.
The Stevie Agnew Band are playing The Tivoli Theatre on Friday 8 January 2027, with the show starting at 7:30pm. It's a tribute night called After The Last Waltz, built around The Band's farewell concert and the film Martin Scorsese made of it.
The set doesn't just stick to that one night, though. It traces the group's whole run: from their start as The Hawks, Bob Dylan's trailblazing backing band, through to their own acclaimed album Music from Big Pink and the anthem 'The Weight', before arriving at Thanksgiving 1976, when they played their final bow at the Last Waltz concert. The Stevie Agnew Band bring more than 30 years of live experience to the stage, and they pay homage to that night with an evening of Americana, folk, blues and classic rock and roll, playing hits from the film and more.
If you're not entirely familiar with the story, The Band were one of those groups that influenced almost everyone who came after them, and The Last Waltz is the definitive document of their time together. The film captures the farewell show in all its glory, and this is a night that looks back at the whole journey that led up to it.
