A comedy night raising funds to send city comedians to the Edinburgh Fringe, headlined by Taskmaster contestant Stevie Martin.
Stevie Martin headlines the York Comedy Fringe Fundraiser at Micklegate Social den space on Wednesday 8 July. It's a comedy night put on by the York Comedy Society, and the money raised goes towards sending the University of York's sketch group, The Dead Ducks, to the Edinburgh Fringe.
Martin is best known for her run on series 19 of Taskmaster, and she's been touring her acclaimed show Clout, which played to sold-out houses at the Edinburgh Fringe in both 2023 and 2024. That's the same festival the fundraiser is helping The Dead Ducks reach, so the night has a direct link to the very thing it's raising money for.
The Dead Ducks are the University of York's sketch group, and the Fringe is the biggest platform for comedy in the UK, so getting them up there is a proper goal for the society. The night is a fundraiser for that trip, with Stevie Martin as the main draw.
