Will Young headlines York Barbican for his 25th anniversary UK tour, celebrating 25 years since his Pop Idol win.
Will Young plays York Barbican on Thursday 25 February 2027, as part of his 25th anniversary UK tour. It's a run of 16 dates across the country, his first since the sold-out acoustic tour he did in 2024, and the whole thing marks 25 years since he won the first series of Pop Idol in 2002.
If you've followed him since then, you'll know the numbers. He's one of Britain's best-known soul-pop voices, with two BRIT Awards and an Olivier nomination to his name, along with four No.1 and eleven UK Top 10 albums, and eleven Top 10 singles. His debut single, 'Anything Is Possible / Evergreen', sold more than 1.7 million copies — that makes it the second best-selling single of the 21st century in the UK and one of the country's top 20 best-selling singles of all time. It's a hell of a starting point for a career that's kept going long after the reality show fame.
There's more to him than the music, too. He's a Sunday Times best-selling author, a podcast host, and an advocate for mental health, wellbeing, LGBTQ+ rights and animal welfare — and he's a keen gardener when he's not on stage. This tour follows his most recent Top 5 album, Light It Up, so there's newer material to sit alongside the older songs.
