The Choir of York Minster are back in The Nave for the Christmas Carol Concerts on Thursday 3 and Friday 4 December, both starting at 7:00 pm with doors open from 6:00 pm. It's one of the city's most popular ways to kick off the festive season, returning each year as part of the Minster's wider Advent and Christmas programme of services and events.
The Choir, described as one of the UK's leading cathedral choirs, performs traditional and much-loved Christmas music in the Nave, with seasonal readings from guest Ian Kelsey and music by the Yorkshire Volunteer Band. There's also a chance for the audience to join in with carols, so it's as much about singing along as it is about listening. This year's concerts are supported by JM Finn.
