British country act Ward Thomas celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album Cartwheels with a full band tour, supported by The Wandering Hearts.
Ward Thomas play the York Barbican on Monday 14 September, as part of a tour celebrating the tenth anniversary of their album Cartwheels. The set is the album played in full, from start to finish, with the sisters backed by a full band.
Ward Thomas is the British country duo made up of identical twins Catherine and Lizzy Ward Thomas. Cartwheels came out in 2016 and holds a bit of a place in the books: it was the first album by a British country artist to reach number one on the UK album charts. They recorded it between their home and Nashville, and the songs are built around their vocal harmonies and a strong sense of storytelling. You'll hear 'Carry You Home', 'Guilty Flowers', and the title track, 'Cartwheels', all of which are on the record.
For this tour, they're performing the whole thing with a full band behind them, rather than as a duo. They're joined by The Wandering Hearts, who open the night and come with a UK Americana award for Emerging Artist. So it's two acts on the bill, with the main set dedicated to one album.
