The Sunday Social Comedy Club celebrates its 2nd birthday with five comedy acts at Bluebird Bakery, hosted by John Pease.
The Sunday Social Comedy Club is back at Bluebird Bakery on Sunday 27 September, and this one is a bit of a milestone: it's their second birthday. If you've been following them, you'll know the club has grown steadily since it started, celebrating its first birthday in September 2025 and now hitting two. To mark the occasion, they're rounding off the night with cake for everyone, so it's a proper party rather than just another Sunday night of stand-up.
The night is hosted by comedian John Pease, and the line-up brings together five acts. It's a mix of local talent and circuit stars, which is the club's usual way of doing things — pairing comedians from around York with names from further afield. The Sunday Social is billed as a relaxed, friendly evening, and that's pretty much the whole point of it: a laid-back Sunday night of stand-up that doesn't take itself too seriously.

It's held at Bluebird Bakery, 201 Acomb Rd, Acomb, YO24 4HD. There's a bar and snacks available on the night, so you can get a drink and something to eat before the show starts. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the comedy kicks off at 8:00pm. Tickets are £10 plus booking fee in advance, and £15 on the door, though those are very limited, so it's worth getting yours sorted ahead of time.
