Live carol performances throughout the day in the York Castle Museum during the festive season, set within the recreated Victorian street.
The Ran Tanners are taking over York Castle Museum on Monday 14 December, one of their Monday slots throughout the festive season. They'll be performing live carols on Kirkgate, the museum's recreated Victorian street, which is dressed for Christmas with twinkling garlands, decorated trees and snow-covered cobbles. It's a day-long thing, with performances running throughout the day rather than a single set, so you can drop in whenever suits you best.
The music is part of Christmas at York Castle Museum, which runs every Monday from 7 to 21 December. The wider Christmas exhibition opens on 14 November and stays until 3 January, so there's plenty of room to fit this in around your other plans. On Kirkgate, the carols share the street with characters like Green Father Christmas and Ebenezer Scrooge, and there's storytelling and family activities to get stuck into alongside the music.

If you're heading in, it's worth knowing that the performances are included in general admission, so you don't need a separate ticket for the music. The Ran Tanners are on every Monday from 7 to 21 December, with the 14th being one of those dates, and they'll be playing throughout the day on Kirkgate.
