The Human League headline the Live at York Museum Gardens concert series, with guests Go West, Blancmange and Toyah.
The Human League headline York Museum Gardens on Saturday 3 July, part of the Live at York Museum Gardens concert series. They're joined by Go West, Blancmange and Toyah, with Olly Murs also appearing as a headliner during the series. It's the band's first York show since they played the Knavesmire in 2023.
They first made their mark with the 1981 album Dare!, which gave them the international hit 'Don't You Want Me' and helped them sell more than 20 million records worldwide. Since then they've put out six more hit albums, a remix album, a live album, six EPs, 29 singles and 13 compilations. The set will draw from that long run, with the early synth-pop that made them known sitting alongside the material that followed.
The concert is part of the Live at York Museum Gardens series, now in its fourth year. It's run by Leeds-based Futuresound Group in collaboration with York Museums Trust, and this edition is the first to run over two weekends. In previous years the series has hosted sold-out shows by Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Self Esteem and Super Furry Animals, as well as comedy headliners Russell Howard, Ross Noble and Joanne McNally. It was the first time the park had staged a major rock gig since the 1970s and 80s.
