A spellbinding night of music inspired by Harry Potter performed on the Grand Organ of York Minster by organist Andrew Forbes.
Andrew Forbes is bringing the music of Harry Potter to the Grand Organ of York Minster on Saturday 31 October, with the concert running from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm in the cathedral's Nave. It's a single-instrument performance, so the whole night is Forbes on the organ rather than a full orchestra.
The date is a bit of a nod to the source material — Halloween night, and 25 years on from the release of the first film. The music comes from the Harry Potter films, and the set lasts about 80 minutes with no interval, so you'll be through it in one go. The Grand Organ is the Minster's main instrument, and the Nave is the wide, open space that runs the length of the building, which is where the sound will carry.

Tickets are £20 for a standard adult and £10 for under 27s, and they're sold through the York Minster box office. It's a Halloween evening in the Nave, so it's a straightforward one to slot into a night out in the city.
