A dark live immersive theatre experience where the audience makes real-time choices that change the story, exploring the Seven Deadly Sins.
SINS comes to York Barbican on Thursday 29 April 2027, starting at 7:30pm. It's a dark live experience that sits at the intersection of theatre, psychological challenge and audience power, and it's recommended for ages 16 and over.
At the centre of the show is a figure known only as The Examiner, before whom are lined up seven people, each embodying one of the Seven Deadly Sins: Lust, Gluttony, Sloth, Envy, Wrath, Pride and Greed. As their stories unfold on stage, the room is drawn in through intelligent challenges, timed decisions and judgement trials played out on your own mobile device. Every choice you make alters what happens next, so the story changes based on how the audience votes.
It's not horror built on jump scares; the tension is driven by the audience, and every performance ends differently. Because the outcome depends on the room, no two nights are the same. You'll need your phone handy to take part, as the decisions are made in real time.
