If you've come across Brodkin's name before, it might be from his public stunts rather than his stand-up. He's the one who handed a P45 to former Prime Minister Theresa May and showered FIFA chief Sepp Blatter with banknotes. He also created the BBC comedy series Lee Nelson's Well Good Show. His previous tour, Screwed Up, ran for 170 dates and sold out three nights at London's Hammersmith Apollo.
Unleashed is described as a hysterical show full of scandalous punchlines and electric crowdwork, with the EdFringe Review calling it a masterclass in stand-up at its best. The material covers a wide range of ground: broken Britain, the American dream, vape shops, Genghis Khan, wild swimmers, religion, Greta Thunberg, and two of his wife's friends, Claire and Carl. It's a 14+ show, so it's not for the under-14s.
Tickets are available at simonbrodkin.com and other outlets, with booking fees on top. Prices depend on where you sit: P1 is £25.00, P2 is £35.00, and P3 is £45.00. Once you add the booking and venue fees, the total comes to £30.75, £42.75, and £54.25 respectively. The York Barbican is on Paragon Street, YO10 4NT, and they offer exclusive hospitality options if you want to make a proper night of it.
