Comedian Scott Bennett performs his show Stuff at the York Barbican, exploring his attempt to cleanse his life of material possessions amid the environmental crisis.
Scott Bennett brings his new show Stuff to the York Barbican on Friday 14 May 2027. It's a home-turf gig for him β he was born in Yorkshire β and the show starts at 19:30.
Stuff is built around a simple, relatable premise: Bennett's attempt to cleanse his life of material possessions in the middle of the environmental crisis. It's that kind of thing we all think about when we're staring at a cluttered cupboard or a drawer full of things we never use, and he turns it into a full hour on stage.
If you haven't come across him before, there's a bit of a gap between his public profile and his reputation. He's a regular on Live at the Apollo, The News Quiz, and The Now Show, and he's an award-winning comedian and product designer. The Evening Standard once called him 'live comedy's best kept secret', and he was named Comics' Comic of 2020 after spending the Covid lockdown performing a series of gigs from his garden shed. He was also a Best Club Comedian nominee in 2022.

He's spent a good deal of time at the Edinburgh Fringe, with Nine Lives in 2022, Leap Year in 2018, and About a Roy back in 2015. Stuff is the latest in that run. It's a 19:30 start at the York Barbican on Friday 14 May 2027.
