Roy Chubby Brown returns with his brand-new 2027 comedy show at the York Barbican.
Roy Chubby Brown is back at the York Barbican on Saturday 3 April 2027, with his brand-new comedy show for the year. It's a stand-up set, so it's just him on stage with the new material he's put together for the 2027 run.
If you've never seen him, you'll recognise him by the patchwork quilt of a suit he wears on stage. He's known for bawdy stand-up, and he's been at it a long time. He didn't start out as a solo comic, though; he began by telling jokes between songs while playing drums in his duo, Alcock and Brown, before moving into a solo comedy project. Since then, he's recorded enough live comedy specials to fill two whole days of programming, and he's put out two memoirs: Common as Muck! The Autobiography of Roy Chubby Brown and It's Funny Being Me.
The York date is part of a wider UK tour that takes him to several other cities throughout 2027. He'll be at the O2 Apollo Manchester on 16 January, the Whitby Pavilion Theatre on 20 February, the O2 City Hall Newcastle on 22 October, and the O2 Guildhall Southampton on 12 November. York is one of the earlier stops on that run, so you'll be seeing the new show while it's still fresh.

Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster, and the York show is listed as Venue Premium Tickets. It starts at 18:00, so it's an early evening one, with the set running from there.
