Legendary magician Penn Jillette returns to the UK for his first solo tour, joined by comedy magician Piff the Magic Dragon in a double act magic show.
Penn Jillette is coming to York Opera House on Saturday 19 October, his first UK solo tour. For anyone who knows the name, it's usually half of Penn & Teller, the duo that's been headlining the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas since 2001 — the longest-running magic residency in Vegas history. They're also members of the Magic Circle. This is the first time Jillette is touring the UK without his partner of more than 50 years.
He's not going it alone, though. He's teaming up with Piff the Magic Dragon, the comedy magician and America's Got Talent favourite. Piff is John van der Put, and these are his first UK shows in over a decade, dating back to his birthplace in Forest Hill, southeast London, before he moved to Las Vegas. He's had his own residency at the Flamingo Las Vegas since 2015, with over 2,000 shows on the Strip.
The night is split into two acts. The first half gives each of them their own solo showcase, with Piff's chihuahua, Mr Piffles, billed as the world's only magic-performing Chihuahua. The second act brings the two back together as a double act. So you get two separate sets and then the two of them on stage at once.

It's a bit of a homecoming for Piff, too, these being his first UK shows in more than ten years since he left Forest Hill for Vegas. Penn Jillette, meanwhile, is stepping out on his own for the first time in over half a century. The show is at York Opera House on Saturday 19 October.
