Swashbuckling musical pantomime with Tom Lister as Captain Hook and Jimmy Bryant as Smee, featuring action, flying scenes and special effects.
The Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook opens at the Grand Opera House on 5 December 2026, and it runs through to 3 January 2027. It's a musical pantomime, so it's a proper Christmas run that takes you right up to the New Year and a bit beyond.

This isn't a retelling of the original story, but a new adventure for Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Smee. It's a swashbuckling one, and the production is built around the big pantomime moments: flying scenes, choreography, songs, special effects and the usual stage combat. It's aimed at families and suitable for all ages, with a recommendation from age three up.
Two of the main roles are already cast. Tom Lister takes on Captain Hook, and he comes to the part with a background in musical theatre and TV, including Emmerdale, 42nd Street, Calamity Jane and Legally Blonde. Jimmy Bryant returns as Smee, having played Buttons in the 2025 Little Red Riding Hood panto here in York. The rest of the cast will be announced later.
