Film screening of the NT Live production of Les Liaisons Dangereuses, directed by Marianne Elliott, starring Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner.
Theatre@41 is screening NT Live: Les Liaisons Dangereuses on Thursday 17 September, from 19:00 to 21:00. It's a filmed production from the National Theatre, so you get the full stage show on screen rather than a live cast in the room.
The play is Christopher Hampton's adaptation of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos's classic novel, and it's directed by Marianne Elliott, who won a BAFTA for Angels in America. Lesley Manville, whom you might know from Phantom Thread, plays the Marquise de Merteuil, and Aidan Turner, from Rivals, is the Vicomte de Valmont. Together they turn seduction into strategy in the glittering salons of the super-rich, and the production is described as a lavish, incisive exploration of how desire is exploited and loyalty shattered when ambition takes over.
