An outdoor evening of music and open-air theatre with the Sing Space Musical Theatre Choirs performing songs from musical theatre.
Musicals by Moonlight comes to Scampston Hall Gardens on Sunday 19 July, with the Sing Space Musical Theatre Choirs taking the stage for an evening of songs from musical theatre. It's an open-air concert, so the music is set against the gardens rather than inside a hall.
The choirs are led by James Aconley, and they draw from a community of both seasoned performers and people new to the stage, many of whom have found renewed confidence and connection through singing. Aconley describes the event as a celebration of what makes community music powerful — bringing people together, creating friendships and giving everyone the chance to be part of something truly special. The set is built around musical theatre, so you'll be hearing songs from the stage rather than a pop or classical programme.
Because it's an outdoor concert, the evening is a bit more relaxed than a typical theatre trip. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic, so you can settle in with some food and drink while the choirs perform. It's a Sunday date, too, which makes it an easy one to fit into a weekend without having to worry about a work morning the next day.
