Welsh psychedelic rock band Super Furry Animals headline a concert at York Museum Gardens, supported by Baxter Dury, Los Campesinos!, Divorce, and Pys Melyn.
Super Furry Animals are headlining York Museum Gardens on Saturday 11 July, their first time back on stage after a ten-year hiatus. It's a big return for the Welsh art-rock five — Gruff Rhys, Huw Bunford, Cian Ciarán, Dafydd Ieuan and Guto Pryce — who've spent more than three decades together. Over that time they put out nine albums, from the eclectic Fuzzy Logic that started it all to the UK Top Ten Radiator.
They're not the only ones on the bill. Baxter Dury, Los Campesinos!, Divorce and Pys Melyn all play throughout the day, so it's a full day of music rather than just one band. The whole thing is part of the third season of Live at Museum Gardens, the concert series run by Leeds-based Futuresound Group in partnership with York Museums Trust.
The venue itself is the Museum Gardens, founded in the 1830s and stretching over ten acres, with the ruins of St Mary's Abbey sitting right in the middle of it. This year the site layout has been tweaked, with a new premium area that includes a 'hang out area', seating, exclusive food vendors and a first-come-first-serve premium standing platform.

A few practical things to keep in mind before you head in: the venue is cashless, and it's a standing-only concert, so there's no seating in the main area. That's the run of play for Saturday 11 July at York Museum Gardens.
