Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club

Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club is back at the York Barbican on Friday 28 August, with doors opening at 7:30pm and the show starting at 8pm. It's a stand-up night in the YO1 Live Lounge, and the bill for the evening is Matt Price and Jack Hester, with Gary Jennison as MC.

The club's whole thing is booking comedians who've worked on the big TV shows you'll recognise. They pull from the likes of BBC2's Mock The Week, Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats, BBC1's Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Have I Got News For You, Channel 4's Taskmaster and Paramount's Live at The Comedy Store. It's that kind of circuit they draw from, so you're getting acts who've done the TV rounds rather than just a random collection of names.

There's a bit of a track record there, too. They've put on Jason Manford, John Bishop, Sarah Millican and Chris Ramsey before they hit the big time, so the club has a habit of booking people on their way up. That's the draw here: seeing comedians in a room like this before they're playing the big theatres.

Two things to keep in mind before you head down. First, seating is unreserved and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you've got a preference for where you sit, it pays to get there a bit early. Second, the room is strictly 18+, so it's an adults-only night. Doors open at 7:30pm, and the show kicks off at 8pm.
