Live music session featuring local bands and artists at the THOR'S tipi venue, with dancing under a disco ball.
Flatcap Carnival takes over THOR'S tipi on Sunday 2 August, from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. It's a live session of local bands and artists playing inside the tipi, with dancing under a disco ball. If you've been around York this summer, you'll know the tipi has moved into the heart of the city centre on Parliament Street, and it's come back with a new look: new venue, new street food, new cocktails and new community events alongside the fire pits it's known for.
Flatcap Carnival is part of a wider summer season that runs from 22 May to 6 September 2026. There's free live music every Sunday, and Open Decks returns on Wednesdays. There's also a new Spritz menu, the Dirty Dr Pepper cocktail, MEGA PINTS, and family raves and themed nights every Friday. On the food side, a new trader, My Big Fat Greek, is serving authentic Greek gyros and Greek-style bites.
