Cooks & Books: Ella Risbridger for The Kitchen Book

Ella Risbridger is coming to Topping & Company Booksellers on Monday 21 September, where she'll be talking about her new cookbook, The Kitchen Book. It's part of their Cooks & Books series, so it's not just a reading — the evening is built around cookery chatter and tasters from the book itself, including the 'incredible cookie matrix on pg 309' that she's been talking up.

If you haven't come across her before, Risbridger is a London writer and journalist whose bylines appear in the Financial Times, the Guardian, the Observer and Vogue. Her debut, Midnight Chicken (& Other Recipes Worth Living For), was a best-seller that picked up Cookbook of the Year at the Guild of Food Writers Awards and made the year-end lists of the Sunday Times, the New York Times, the Daily Mail and the Washington Post. The Times described her as 'the most talented writer of a generation'. She's also the creator of the best-selling newsletter You Get In Love And Then...? and, when she's not writing, she's an amateur painter, potter and candlestick maker.

The Kitchen Book is described as home cooking made gorgeous — beautiful, useful and delicious, and aimed at people who love to cook and eat. The evening will be a chance to hear her talk through the recipes and get a taste of them first hand, with that cookie matrix being one of the highlights. It's a good fit for the venue, too: Topping's is right in the heart of the city on Museum Street, and this is one of those nights that works best if you're actually there in the room rather than just reading about it later.
