Chris Ramsey - Here, Man!

Chris Ramsey brings his latest stand-up show, Here, Man!, to York Barbican on Thursday 12 November. It's his first time back in the city since his previous tour, 2020, which played to sell-out crowds across the country.

If you've only come across Ramsey from the telly, you'll recognise him from The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show, Strictly Come Dancing, and Taskmaster, as well as his stint presenting Children in Need. He also co-hosts the podcast Shagged.Married.Annoyed with his wife, Rosie Ramsey. Here, Man! is the follow-up to 2020, so it's a new run of material rather than a repeat of the old tour.

As for what he actually does on stage, the reviews give a decent idea. The Evening Standard called him a "brilliantly engaging natural storyteller", and The Guardian praised his ability to spin "blokey pub banter and unpretentious patter into stand-up gold". That's a fair summary of the thing: he takes the kind of chat you'd hear down the pub and builds it into a proper show. It's conversational, grounded, and doesn't try to be anything other than a comedian telling stories.

It's a single-act night, so it's just Ramsey on stage for the duration. The show starts at 7:30pm at York Barbican on Thursday 12 November.
