High-energy tribute concert to ABBA performed by the world-famous Australian band Bjorn Again at the York Barbican.
Björn Again play the York Barbican on Tuesday 6 April 2027, starting at 19:30. They're an ABBA tribute band from Australia, formed in 1988, and they've since become one of the most well-known acts of their kind, with more than 5,800 shows played across 78 countries over 39 years. Björn Ulvaeus himself has credited them with helping spark the ABBA revival that took hold in the late eighties and early nineties.
The show is a recreation of the music and the fashion of the 1970s, with ABBA's biggest hits like 'Dancing Queen' and 'Mamma Mia' at the centre of it. It doesn't stop there, though: they also cover Bon Jovi, Village People, Erasure, Guns N' Roses and Van Halen, so there's a fair bit more on the setlist than just the ABBA catalogue. They describe the whole thing as a high-energy show with a bit of light parody running through it.
There's a bit of a story behind how it all started. The band was founded by Rod Stephen, who came to the concept after a career in metallurgical research, drawing inspiration from the New Zealand band Split Enz. It's a long way from a lab to a tribute act, and that's part of why the show works as a bit of a send-up as much as a tribute.

It's aimed at ABBA fans, but it'll suit anyone who likes disco, seventies pop and a proper live show. Tickets start at £67, and the night kicks off at 19:30 at the York Barbican.
