Boogaloo Stu brings his outrageous, anarchic and bawdy one-man bingo show to the York Theatre Royal Studio for a night of non-stop nonsense and obscenity.
Boogaloo Stu brings Big Quiffy Bingo to the Studio at York Theatre Royal on Friday 9 October. It's a one-man show that takes bingo and turns it into something a bit more chaotic than your usual Friday night at the community centre.
Stu describes himself as a bawdy raconteur, and the show lives up to the name. He calls Big Quiffy Bingo completely ridiculous, simply fabulous, and utterly idiotic, and that's a fair summary of what's on the go. It's an anarchic bingo experience that mixes utter filth with joyous fun and flashmob dances, so you'll be calling numbers one minute and on your feet the next. He promises non-stop nonsense, outrageous antics, buttock-clenching workouts, and ballsy bingo throughout.
One thing to have in mind before you book: this is firmly for adults. Stu warns that the show is off the scale on the filth-o-meter, with sexual swear words and general obscenity from the outset. If that's your kind of night, you're in the right place.

This performance is part of The Old Paint Shop season, which transforms the Studio into a cabaret club with unreserved seating, so you'll be close to the action. The show has already run a sell-out season at the Brighton Fringe Spiegeltent and toured the UK, so it's a polished bit of business by the time it reaches York. It's on Friday 9 October at the Studio, York Theatre Royal.
