Anton Du Beke shares personal stories from his life and dance career on stage, celebrating the release of his memoir Steps in Time.
Anton Du Beke brings Steps in Time to York Barbican on Tuesday 2 November, a night that's as much about the stories as it is about the dancing. It's a live companion to his first memoir, Steps in Time: The Music, Memories and Moments that Made Me, which comes out on 5 November, just a few days after the show.

On stage, Du Beke talks through his life and his career in dance, starting with growing up in the seventies and the odd jobs he took through the eighties and nineties while he chased his dreams. He works his way through to the world of ballroom that made him a household name, and spends a good chunk of the evening on Strictly Come Dancing, where he's been a fixture since the first series back in 2004. You'll get behind-the-scenes accounts from two decades on the show, alongside ballroom stories he hasn't shared before, all told with the same charm he brings to the dance floor.
It's a night for anyone who loves dancing, ballroom, or just a good story about a life well-danced. If you've followed Strictly since the early days, there's a lot here that'll ring a bell, but it's as much for people who just enjoy a bit of a look behind the curtain. There's also a meet-and-greet option, so you can get a copy of Steps in Time signed by hand.
Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster, and the show runs from 18:30 to 23:00 at York Barbican on Tuesday 2 November.
