A seasonal six-course menu by Head Chef Will Lockwood, with each course paired with a wine or whisky from the Pol Roger Portfolio, celebrating three family-owned producers.
Roots York is hosting An Evening with Pol Roger Portfolio on Thursday 8 October, a themed dinner that brings together three family-owned producers from very different corners of the UK and Europe. The evening runs from 6:00pm to 10:30pm, and the whole night is built around the Pol Roger Portfolio: Champagne Pol Roger, Maison Joseph Drouhin from Burgundy, and Glenfarclas Highland Single Malt from the Scottish Highlands.
Head Chef Will Lockwood has put together a seasonal six-course menu, with each course paired with a wine or whisky from the portfolio. That's six different pairings to work through over the course of the evening, so you'll be tasting your way from Champagne through to Burgundy and up to the Highlands. It's not just about the drinks, either — the menu is seasonal, so the food will be working with what's fresh and in season in October.
What sets the night apart from a standard tasting is that representatives from Champagne Pol Roger and Maison Joseph Drouhin will be there throughout, sharing the stories, traditions and people behind the houses. The three producers are all family-owned and known for their commitment to craftsmanship, quality and generations of family ownership, and that's the thread that ties the evening together. If you've ever wondered about the history behind the labels, this is your chance to hear it from the people who actually know the houses inside out.
