The Muppets stage the classic Dickens holiday tale, with Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, in a family-friendly performance.
The Muppets are bringing A Christmas Carol to the New Tampa Performing Arts Center on Sunday, November 29, for a screening that runs from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. It's their take on the Dickens holiday classic, and the casting puts Kermit the Frog in the role of Bob Cratchit, the put-upon clerk working for the stingy Ebenezer Scrooge.
Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fozzie Bear and Sam the Eagle weave in and out of the story as it unfolds, while Scrooge receives visits from the spirits of three Christmases — past, present and future — who show him the error of his self-serving ways. The whole thing runs about two and a half hours, so it's a full afternoon's commitment rather than a quick stop.
