BENISE: Spanish Nights By Candlelight

BENISE brings Spanish Nights By Candlelight to the New Tampa Performing Arts Center on Friday, January 15, 2027. It's an acoustic set built around arrangements that draw from musical traditions across the world, blending Spanish passion with classical elegance and contemporary favorites.

If you're not familiar with him, BENISE is an Emmy Award-winning guitarist known as 'The Prince of Spanish Guitar.' He's a self-taught musician who can't read a single note, and he started composing original works when he was eleven. He's since produced, arranged, and released 17 albums on his own label, Spanish Guitar Entertainment, along with eight DVDs. He first made a name for himself as a street performer in Los Angeles, where he played more than 200 shows a year.

He's spent much of his career breaking the mold of Spanish guitar by combining Nuevo Flamenco with dance and theater, pulling from Spanish flamenco, Cuban salsa, Brazilian samba, and the Parisian waltz. He also appeared on Dancing with the Stars. This particular show is a stripped-down, acoustic version of that sound. He describes it as a show for everyone, and says he hopes audiences leave inspired by the music and by the reminder that dreams are worth pursuing.

The concert runs from 7:30 to 9:30 PM at the New Tampa Performing Arts Center, 8550 Hunters Village Road, Tampa, Florida 33647. Tickets are $57 to $88, depending on where you sit.
