Dog adoption day run by Stray Paws Rescue with adoptable dogs, training tips, giveaways and a doggie playground at Westport Plaza.
Westport Bark is coming to Westport Plaza on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 1 PM. It's an adoption event presented by Kennelwood Pet Resorts, and the whole morning is built around meeting adoptable dogs and learning about adoption and fostering.
The dogs are from Stray Paws Rescue, a 501(c)(3) foster-based nonprofit that serves the St. Louis Metro Area. They pull dogs from high-kill shelters across 11 states and take on the toughest medical cases. If you're thinking about fostering, they offer it for free—that covers all supplies, vetting, and food—and they do home visits for every adoption. They also provide training support, including professional board-and-train programs when needed. The rescue takes owner surrenders when possible, doesn't discriminate by breed, and stays a resource for adopters for the life of the pet.
If you already have a dog, you can bring them along. There's a doggie playground at the plaza where your dog can play while you chat with other dog lovers. It's as much a social morning for the humans as it is for the pups.
