Five-piece Americana band Taylor Steele & the Love Preachers play blues, soul and roots rock at Blue Strawberry.
Taylor Steele & the Love Preachers play Blue Strawberry on Wednesday, November 4, at 7:30 PM. They're a five-piece Americana band based in Effingham, Illinois, and they'll be the only act on the bill.
Frontman Taylor Steele sings with a raw, soulful voice that carries the set from whispered blues to gospel fire. The group blends roots rock, country, soul, and blues across two full albums of his original songs, and they mix those in with interpretations of artists like Van Morrison, Son House, Neil Young, and the Marshall Tucker Band. It's a wide reach for one night, and the set pulls from both sides—the original material they've recorded and the older songs they've taken on.
