Composer and conductor Steve Hackman leads the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra in a symphonic tribute to Taylor Swift's catalog, reimagining her iconic songs for the concert hall.
Steve Hackman returns to Powell Hall on Wednesday, January 13, 2027, at 7:30 PM with The Symphony Era (Vol. I), a symphonic tribute to Taylor Swift's catalog. He'll be conducting the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, and the whole thing is built around the SLSO's own orchestral arrangements of her songs.
It's not a cover band setup—the orchestra is the main event. Hackman's project, SYMPHONYFUSE, takes Swift's songs and reframes them for the concert hall, giving heartbreak ballads and mega-hits a symphonic transformation. The program pulls from across her career, with 'Cruel Summer', 'Love Story', 'Ready for It', 'All Too Well', and 'Wildest Dreams' among the songs they'll play, and many more on top of that. If you know the catalog, you'll recognize the melodies; if you don't, it still works as a night of orchestral music.
Hackman is both the composer and the conductor here, so he's the one leading the SLSO through the arrangements. He's played Powell Hall before, and this is his return to the stage with the full power of the orchestra behind him. The performance runs two hours and forty minutes, including intermission, so it's a full evening rather than a quick set.

After the music wraps, there's the SLSO's After Party, a post-concert hang in the lobby that doesn't require an additional ticket. The whole thing starts at 7:30 PM on Wednesday, January 13, at Powell Hall in St. Louis.
