Charity benefit at the UCBC Midtown Brewery and Biergarten where attendees raise a stein and 20% of proceeds go to the Starkloff Disability Institute.
Steins for Support is a benefit for the Starkloff Disability Institute on Sunday, October 18, at Urban Chestnut Midtown Biergarten. It's a St. Louis charity, and the whole thing is built around a simple idea: you raise a stein, and 20% of all proceeds go to the institute. The afternoon runs from 1 PM to 3 PM, so it's more of a Sunday midday thing than a late-night outing.
Urban Chestnut is a craft brewery with German roots, and the Midtown spot has a large outdoor Biergarten, which is where the event takes place. If you're not familiar with the name, the Starkloff Disability Institute is a local charity here in St. Louis, and this is one of the ways they bring in support. The "raise a stein" part is just a nod to the brewery's German styleβyou drink your beer, and a portion of what you spend goes to the cause.

If you're an organization looking to be featured in future editions of Steins for Support, the organizers are taking submissions by email. Otherwise, it's a straightforward afternoon: grab a beer, hang out in the Biergarten, and know that a piece of your tab is heading to a local charity. It's at 3229 Washington Ave, and tickets are $2.
