For those who know the name but not the history, the band started after John Lydon fronted the Sex Pistols. He formed PiL as a post-punk outfit that pulled from rock, dance, folk, pop and dub, and they put out five UK Top 20 singles and five UK Top 20 albums between First Issue in 1978 and That What Is Not in 1992. After a 17-year hiatus, Lydon brought the band back in 2009 and released This is PiL in 2012, What The World Needs Now... in 2015 and End of World in 2023. The current lineup is Lydon on vocals, Lu Edmonds on guitar, Scott Firth on bass and Mark Roberts on drums.
