Matt Jordan, country singer-songwriter from Eureka, Missouri, plays Old Rock House with Austin Grimm and Them Gold Souls.
Matt Jordan plays Old Rock House on Saturday, November 21, with Austin Grimm & Them Gold Souls joining him. It's a pairing of two St. Louis natives who've both spent a good chunk of their careers working through Nashville before coming back home.
Jordan grew up in Eureka, Missouri, and his music is rooted in the American heartland, drawing on Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, and Jackson Browne. American Songwriter has compared him to Eric Church, and The Boot to Springsteen. He cut his teeth in Nashville before moving back to St. Louis to start a family, and he's independently released four full-length albums. He's also shared the stage with Travis Tritt, Chris Young, Kip Moore, and Joe Nichols.
Austin Grimm is a St. Louis native who spent the last decade leading the Nashville-based touring band Roots of a Rebellion (ROAR), which he started with college friends at Belmont University. ROAR released the #1 Billboard Reggae album Shapes of a Soul in 2019 and played with The Wailers, Stick Figure, Rebelution, and Slightly Stoopid. Now taking time off the road, Grimm has returned to his roots with his solo debut Garden of Youth, a blend of folk, reggae, and soul he calls "Island Americana."
