Free day of Kwanzaa traditions at the Saint Louis Art Museum with live performances, workshops, art making and a scavenger hunt.
The Saint Louis Art Museum is hosting a Kwanzaa Celebration on Sunday, December 27, from 10 AM to 3 PM. It's a full day of culture, performance, and tradition, and it's free to attend.
There's a good mix of things to do throughout the day. Live performances are a big part of it, and they're paired with workshops and art making, so you can watch and then try your hand at something yourself. There's also a scavenger hunt running, which is a nice way to move through the museum and pick up a few things along the way. If you're bringing kids, the workshops and the hunt give them something active to do while the performances keep the energy going.
The celebration is held at the museum in Forest Park, one of the city's leading comprehensive art museums. Its collections span almost every time period and culture, and admission is free every day. Beyond the galleries, the museum runs a steady program of public engagement, including weekly drop-in tours, Gallery Talks, and Family Sundays, as well as extended hours on Fridays with free admission to the featured exhibition.
