The 35th edition of SLIFF, with 226 independent films screened across nine venues in the Greater St. Louis region.
The St. Louis International Film Festival returns from November 5 to 15, 2026, marking its 35th edition. Presented by Cinema St. Louis, the nonprofit that's been bringing independent film to the city since 1992, this year's lineup features 226 independent films. It's one of about 85 domestic festivals sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences, and its juried Short Film Spotlight competition hands out 'Best of' honors that make filmmakers eligible for an Oscar® nomination.
One of the things that defines SLIFF is how it's spread across the region rather than tucked into a single theater. This year, screenings happen at nine venues: the Hi-Pointe Theatre, the Lincoln Theatre in Belleville, Arkadin Cinema & Bar, B&B Theatre West Olive 10, Chase Park Plaza Cinemas, Washington University, Webster University, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Contemporary Art Museum, and the Julia Davis Library. The mix is deliberate—historic theaters, independent cinemas, upscale screens, university halls, and cultural spaces—designed to connect urban, suburban, and academic audiences across the Greater St. Louis area.

If you're planning to see more than a few films, the Festival Pass is the most cost-effective way to do it. It comes with a commemorative physical badge and lanyard, and Cinema St. Louis members get special pricing on passes and individual tickets. Passes went on sale October 1 for members and October 5 for the general public, so they've been available for a while if you're already mapping out your schedule.
