Stand-up comedy show by Kathy Griffin, presented by Outback, at The Sheldon.
Kathy Griffin brings her New Face, New Tour to The Sheldon on Sunday, October 25, presented by Outback. It's a stand-up comedy show, and if you've followed her career, you know exactly what that looks like: biting satire and fearless comedy. She's a two-time Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian, a television star, and a best-selling author, and she's built her name on taking shots at the people and institutions most folks only whisper about.
There's a lot of ground she's covered to get here. She holds the Guinness World Record for writing and starring in 20 televised stand-up specials, and she's best known for her Bravo series Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List, which ran for six years and picked up two Emmys. Beyond the stand-up, she starred on NBC's Suddenly Susan and guest-starred on Seinfeld, Law & Order: SVU, Glee, You, and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She also lent her voice to characters in Shrek Forever After, The Simpsons, American Dad, Futurama, and Dilbert. For ten years, she co-produced and co-hosted CNN's New Year's Eve special with Anderson Cooper.
Her writing extends to the page, too. Her memoir A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin debuted at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller List, and her second book, Kathy Griffin's Celebrity Run-Ins: My A-Z Index, was also a New York Times Best Seller. Off the stage and screen, she's a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community, women, and other disenfranchised groups, and she's a cancer survivor.
