Jazz Brunch at Evangeline's

Miss Jubilee's Hot Swing Jazz Brunch is at Evangeline's Bistro and Music House on Sunday, October 18, with the Yas Yas Boys backing her. The music runs from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, right in the middle of the brunch service.

Miss Jubilee—whose real name is Kirchhoff—has been a name synonymous with blues and hot jazz in St. Louis for a decade. Joe Bebco of Syncopated Times once described her voice as an instrument whose impeccable timing guides the band and transforms old blues songs into something fresh and relatable. On this particular Sunday, she's joined by the Yas Yas Boys, with pianist Ethan Leinwand and trumpet player TJ Muller filling out the lineup.

It's a brunch that runs on a staggered schedule, so it helps to know the timing before you head over. The kitchen opens at 10:30 AM and closes at 3 PM, the bar runs from 10:30 AM to 4 PM, and the live music fills the middle of the afternoon from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. If you want to catch the whole set and still have time for a meal, arriving closer to the kitchen opening is your best bet. Reservations are recommended.
