Musical holiday evening with cocktails, caroling, dinner and arias by tenor Daniel Luis Espinal and pianist Jonathan Heaney, with proceeds supporting Opera Theatre of Saint Louis.
Opera Theatre of Saint Louis is hosting its Holiday Celebration on Thursday, December 10, at the Westwood Country Club (11801 Conway Road). It's a full evening that starts with cocktails at 6 PM, caroling at 7 PM, and dinner at 7:30 PM, with the music running through the night. The proceeds go to support OTSL.
The music comes from tenor Daniel Luis Espinal, accompanied by pianist Jonathan Heaney. Espinal made his OTSL debut singing Frederic in the company's 2026 production of The Pirates of Penzance. He's a rising name in the opera world: he was the Grand Finals Winner of the 2024 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, received a 2025 Sara Tucker Study Grant, and spent 2025 in residence at the Aix-en-Provence Festival Académie and Ravinia Festival's Steans Institute. He's also a third-year member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago's Ryan Opera Center artist training program.
Heaney is a pianist and vocal coach who has worked at The Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music and co-founded two opera companies. He made his OTSL Festival Season debut in 2025 and returned as a member of the music staff for the 2026 Festival Season. The evening is chaired by Annemarie and Matt Schumacher and Dr. David Sewall and Mr. Jeff Kapfer.
