Disney's Beauty and the Beast

Disney's Beauty and the Beast comes to The Fabulous Fox on Friday, March 5, 2027, at 7:30 PM. It's a stage version of the 1991 Academy Award-winning animated film, and this particular production is billed as Disney's first North American touring staging of the musical in over 25 years. It's built around new sets and costumes.

The show has a long history behind it. The stage version premiered on Broadway in 1994 and has since become one of the longest-running shows in the industry. It earned nine Tony Award nominations and took home the one for Best Costume Design, and it ranks as one of the highest-grossing Broadway shows of all time. The story also got a live-action film in 2017, which grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.

On the creative side, Matt West directs and choreographs. The score is by Alan Menken, who won an Academy Award for it, with songs by Menken and the late Howard Ashman. There are also stage songs by Menken and Tim Rice, and the book is by Linda Woolverton. The sets are by Stanley A. Meyer, the costumes by Tony Award winner Ann Hould-Ward, and the lighting by Natasha Katz.

It's a big production coming through St. Louis, so if you're planning to go, keep the date in mind. It plays at The Fabulous Fox Theatre, 527 N Grand Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63103, on Friday, March 5, 2027, at 7:30 PM.
